I'm gonna put a new heat shield on my car this w/e maybe (if its not too cold). I didn't get new bolts though, and I'm not sure I'll be able to find the originals. The parts guy says I need seven Metric 8 1.25 by 11.00 bolts, and two others that he didn't have specs on. Anyone know if this is right, and what the other bolts are?

Its been a while since I mucked with these parts. The exhaust manifold can stay on right? I think I need to remove the downpipe to get the lower heat shield on though?

Sorry, can't help you out Juan, but just curious why you're replacing it? You still have the stock manifold? My heat shield got destroyed when they tried to get it off to install headers.

juan the top part you can take off with the manifold still being on the car.. i got mine off without messing it up..

the only prob is that there is something on the underside of the mani and i have to twist and bend and had sparks flying allover.. but got it off.. i had it off fine...

if i can member correctly you dont need to take the DP off to get the heat shield off its just a lot of work.. but i think i took all my shields off b4 i took the pipes off.

I love dino and 2gnt. ####ers (my word) bliz stole it but i let him borrow it

I actually am trying to install the heat shields. I took the stocker off a while ago, with what seems to be the general procedure of hacking, yanking and cursing. I'm pretty sure I need to take the downpipe off to get the lower heat shield on though.
