Hey guys, hope all is well. So ive been working on my 1998 eclipse rs and just replaced my motor mounts just last week. Vibration and whatever shaking was occuring has stopped. Only problem i have now is that when when i put my can into drive or reverse then back to Park my engine will move and make a klunk sound when it gets back into place. It isnt making sense to me since my motor mounts are brand new and installed in properly. The sound is annouying and veryyy embarrasing. Can any of you guys fill me in what this issue can me Please. Id like some ideas. Ive been a lurker on this site and learned alot but this just stumps me and yea its bothering me alot. Another issue i can which is small is that only when i brake my front driver side brake make a clicked sound. Now my brakes, rotors(disk) and calipers are spanking brand new. Any ideas on that would be great...

Whats also wierd to is a replace my shockers and installed them in properly. Now when i hit a bump ill also get a klunk sound from the front passanger side...its pissing me off.

For the clunking, have someone watch the engine bay as you change gears. Any excessive movement will be obvious and you can isolate the culprit.
hey there sorry about my grammer. I know it's pretty bad. Ive just made my friend change the gears while i was watching the engine bay. From what i can see is the front motor mount plays around a little bit. It is bolted on tightly but moves up and down. Now these are brand new mounts. OEM mounts to be exact. there is just to much play going on the front mount. I hope this can help you pin point the problem.

Well it seems you have it figured out already. Double check the torque on all related fasteners. If it is within spec, replace the mount or bracket.
Type your post up in Microsoft word and then copy it over if necessary. Or use the latest Firefox as I believe it incorporates a spell check for you. I am not making this personal against you, but reading through the lack of apostrophes and such is painful.
