#134846, "Rebuild Time..."
Aug-08-11 04:50 PM by 740 turbo brick

Well, Ive noticed a lack of power lately, as well as the weak and low vacuum idle problem Ive had. Decided to do a compression test. Dear lord.....heres the numbers. This is with Crower 2s and a stock block with 180k on it. Did the test on a hot engine, no fuel or spark, throttle wide open, at least 14 revolutions.

Dry:

1: 120
2: 118
3: 52
4: 127

Wet:

1: 156
2: 160
3: 84
4: 154

I see cylinder 3 and say HOLY FUCK!! Poor old girls on her last leg. Im not sure what to expect though. Bad rings, burned/bad valve, hole in piston....cant really tell until I rip into it. So needless to say Im not sure if Im making it to the shootout in this car.

Although, it does make me wonder how I ran a 15.5 and made 163 whp on that compression...Imagine a fresh block....

Hell yeah. My cams would be like HERE WE GO!!!!!

I cant find those though. I can only find 8.5, 10.5, and 12:1. Id def go 11:1 because 10.5 is too close to stock and 12 or 12.5 is crazy "satans weedwhacker" exhaust noise.

They are CP but the head is so shaved you have to pull the valves to mill it.

How many times do i have to link those 12.1 weisco's? Your #3 cylinder is scary low.

C'mon now. You know how lazy I am. $10,000 AND I'll pack it up and ship it, lol. That's about what it would take to motivate me. Hence the "if you lived closer to me" comment. I'd let you bum it from me fro the SO.
