hey i took my plugs out the othr day to check them out since i just got the car and three of them are covered in oil. im thinking it might be a VC gasket but i heard it could be a rear seal i think is what they said. thanks

First of All, It can't be the Rear Main, The rear main is a seal in which seals the gap between the Crankshaft & Block, Its not that, that seal is behind you're Flywheel/Driveplate.
Is the oil just sitting at the bottom of the Spark Plug Wells? If so then you're wire's should be covered in the oil too, maybe an Inch or so up them. You're Positive its Oil? Its not fuel?
This is common nothing to worry about, Just about 100% sure its the VC gasket. Go and pick up a new one, MAKE SURE you get it with the Spark Plug Well Gaskets, they are little circular Seals, & they sandwich between the VC & Head around you spark plug holes.
Very Easy Fix & Install. Just really make sure you get the Gasket kit with the Spark Well Seals. Not too pricey anyway.

Just go to your local autozone or pep boys and pick up a felpro VC gasket set, or whatever other brand they have in stock. You need some RTV sealant for the cam caps.

If it's te top of the plug, you haveleaking valve cover spark plug well seals. Replace the valvecover gasket, it comes with the four seals for the sparkplug tubes.
There's a valvecover change writeup in the Wiki, iirc.
