#133928, "engine question"

Ok first off both my cars are now down for the count. So I have two question.

First do any of you guys know much about the ebay rebuild kits. I need a car asap.

Second should I just build a strong bottom end for now since I plan on boosting the car?

That is an extremely open ended question with dozens of differnt answers all of which will vary based on personal opinion.

That being said, I would say if you are rebuilding and plan to boost your best bet is to go with forged internals and low comp pistons. Make sure you mill the head when it is pulled to ensure it is flat.

Other than that, there are a million different options when it comes to a rebuild. Not familiar with the eGay rebuild kits, but I am almost positive if you did some searching on here you would find a few threads discussing them.

What are you exact plans with the car...also mileage and condition of the rest of the drivetrain?

Well right now I just need a car both of mine are down.

Plans for the car are to eventully use it for some drag and street use mostly.

The drive train is about a year old I replaced ball joints, tie rods, hubs, half shafts, I think all that's left to replace is the struts.

I'm also going to be putting disc breaks on the rear.

I have the money to spend on the forged internals but then I'm going to have to put off buying me some new paint guns I've been looking at but I do need the car back. So its kind of a no brasiner.

I have almost every thing to turbo the car the turbo is off a laser atleats that's what garret said when I talked to them. I just need a few small parts and it will be ready.

My orignal plan was to go with eagle h beams, 8.5:1 weisco pistons, pt lifters and rockers, crower turbo cam, and +1 valves and upgrade the springs. Then arps bolts and studs. And the obivious bearings gasket seals keepers and the like.
I'm just kind of in a jam trying to figure out what to do.
