#13353, "I have money, now what?"

Alright, I have around $420 right now, what do I want to buy? I was thinking Injen CAI which is $199 at MachV.com. I need a new shift knob so a Momo Race knob for $89. That leaves about $100 left, any ideas? I can go cheaper on the knob too, so I really have anywhere from $200 to $100 to spend.

Thanks
Jon

Get an afx underdrive pulley. It's about $150.

Intake is a good choice. You can get the AEM CAI from modacar.com for the same price. You could use the money left over and get an AFX UDP from howell. Just a thought. Hope this helps you.

Hey wassup fellow Iowan... Id definately look into getting an air intake, then look into getting the AF/X underdrive pulley.... I dont have one yet but my plans are alot bigger for now(I will down the road).... my advise get all the more expensive "power parts" while you have some cash(air intake, UDP, good plugs, plug wires, short shifter...etc.) .... then get the stuff for "looks" later... you can always scrap up small amounts of cash for the little stuff alot easier than the big stuff (trust me Im saving for Hahn Stage II turbo
should be here end of May early June) Plus its cooler to waste people with what you have rather than show them what you got.... its just my opinion... and since it starting to snow here (finally) your cars gonna look like sh*t anyway save that other stuff for spring....

Alright, I went to modacar and this is what I came up with:

AEM Polished Cold Air Induction System - $225
Unorthodox Racing Ultra Street UDP - $199

I haven't found a place that sells these AFX pulleys anywhere, would the Unorthodox set work just as well?

Get the UDP from Howell Automotive. 160 dollars shipped with belts, and it is better than the Unorthodox.

ok.. just a little advice... if you get the afx udp.. get different belts and use them instead of the ones that come with the afx.. those belts suck and will squeak.. emoji

Stick or auto? If you have a manual(which it sounds like you do), you should also seriously consider the Symborski kit(http://www.machv.com/symshifkit1.html). Great mod for ~$40

First of all I would agree with everyone else, get your power parts, then when ur chit is fast make it look fast! I'd also do some more shopping around on those parts you found. I know for a fact that you can get the AEM CAI cheaper than 225... I bought my MOMO shift knob for 65 bux.... there are some cheaper prices out there you jsut gotta look!!

No offense, I have gotten plenty of stuff on ebay, but most of the time there is a reason stuff is so cheap on ebay!! If you do go on ebay just be careful. Ask the seller any question you can think of. And of course if you find something that you think is questionable, post it on here!! Im sure these guys ( and gals ) will tell you if it is worth it. BTW I know of some decent sites for buying some of the stuf you are looking at. Gimme a shout if you want my personal favorite list...
