the wholes long story is that i have a 95 eclipse with a good motor but fhcked up chasis and a 96 eclipse with a beautiful chasis but no motor.. im not going to ask about C.A.R.B. (california air resources board) legality of doing such a project but instead the down and dirty changes that happened from one model year to the next... anything hugely obvious changes like maybe a pulse air injection housing (or something like that i was told existed but then droped very soon after. maybe someone can suggest a resource that would break this information down completely... i dunno?
im hoping for a list of all "off the top of the head" known or suspected differences particularly from 95 to 96.... you guys are awesome thankyou in advance
well i guess i can start at the ECM... 1.)the computer connector from my 96 will not accept my computer from my 95. the wiring harness/connector is completely different. 2.)pulse air injection which was recalled and only existed on 95's
i hope i dont sound like a douche... take care guys

The motor is exactly the same. IIRC the harness connectors didn't change until '97. Your '95 motor will drop right into your '96, using the '96 ECU and engine bay harness. All of the engine sensors are the same.
By and large, the only differences between model years are electrical and emissions related.

Like DarkOne said, the engine block and other mechanicals are identical. You just need to use the ECU and harness from the 96. All the sensors should plug right in.
