#132059, "Fixing my idle issue"

I am having a idle issue on my eclipse, I took out the egr cleaned it put a gasket on it today (did not have one when i took it off). Now all of a sudden i can hear air coming from the egr area, I tightened it really good so it cant be loose. I fixed a air leak at the back of the intake previously and has not made noise since and I just all of sudden start hearing noise now from some area by egr. I have not driven it yet so I do not know if the idle is fixed, but I did not hear any difference when i started car. If anyone has had a idle issue with the car dropping below 1000 and then revving by its self while in natural and has fixed their problem please provide some info.

If you are hearing air escaping after taking off and reinstalling the EGR, it is likely because you did not reinstall it correctly. Are you sure the vacuum hose is secured to the solenoid? Are you sure the solenoid is connected to the thick piece of tubing where the exhaust gas enters?

I had this problem as well. You can pick up a Idler air control on ebay pretty cheap.
