Most of you already know this, but I thought I would share anyway. A buddy of mine had recently rebuilt his car and used a Topline oil pump. When he went to install it, the bolt holes for the timing belt tensioner were not tapped deep enough to allow the bolts to thread all of the way in. He cut the bolt down so it would tighten down the hydraulic tensioner to the oil pump. When it came time to install the timing belt sprocket and timing belt, there was not enough clearance for the belt to go on under the sprocket due to Topline failing to remove enough material. So, he decided to use it anyway and removed the material himself. Now, this all was totally against my advice. I tried my hardest to talk him out of using and just buying an oem one.
Anyway, two months after the rebuild, he went out to start his car one day and, no start. The timing belt has jumped enough teeth so it won't start. He said it was running perfect when he came home and shut the car down. The next day it wouldn't start. I haven't gotten a chance to look at the car to see exactly what's wrong, but I am suspect to to the problems with the oil pump lol.
So, I guess I am kind of giving a review of the Topline oil pump. If you are considering purchasing one, DON'T!
