Tach signal is the only solid white wire in the ECU harness.
Big external tachs with shiftlights are stupid.

But I tried to state that I recieved this tach for free...I was just wondering...I read on a write up somewhere that the white wire is also within the cluster...

Just because you received the tach for free, doesnt mean you have to use it

I'd be inclined to agree. Just because it was free doesn't mean you need to, or have to use it. Unless you're in a full-on race car that goes down the track fast enough that you can't see your tach, its completely unnecessary... And it looks suspect.

Step 1: lookup value of tach new, subtract 40% Step 2: post tach on craigslist and honduh forums Step 3: ??? Step 4: Profit.

If you're hellbent on using it... All of these are GENERAL statements, it would behoove you to check the manufacturers' website. As these may not apply to the device you have.
Red - Power, usually Black - Ground Yellow - Illum, usually Green - Tachometer signal
