#130145, "Proper storage for rods/pistons?"

What is recommended for when storing pistons and rods to keep them from getting any surface rust? The are already put together on rods so they cannot be just kept in their original boxes. Do I need to spray them down with something to prevent surface rust? And if any rust does appear over time, what should I do...rub it with some sandpaper?

Thanks

Coat them with WD40 or light oil, and give them their own gallon ziplock bag.

As far as surface rust, a rag, oil & elbow grease if you catch it early.
