#130046, "No spark on cyl. 1 and 4"

I was driving around two days ago and it started missing really bad. Pulled over and it ran fine. Went home and started it the next day and it was missing again, but it didn't stop. Popped the hood and checked for spark with a test light and didn't have it at 1 and 4. I have a MSD box and I'm trying to see if anyone has ran into this before. Need to get this thing fixed so I can drive to work.

Everything I found on the search was for no spark.

Thanks for the help

if it's just 1 and 4, you either lost a spark circuit on your MSD, the spark trigger to that channel on your MSD is loose / disconnected, or that coil in the coil pack is bad.

Check the trigger wire before and after the MSD with a testlight / multimeter. You should see a short pulse to ground when it attempts to fire that coil during cranking.

If it is a loss spark trigger, is there a way to reconnect it, or do I need a new msd box.

Had a bad connection were I spiced the coil connector onto the MSD wiring. Resoldered all of the connections.

Thanks for the help.

Depends. If you can track the trigger signal to the MSD box but not beyond it and the wiring checks out, i'd say its a bad MSD.

Double check your wiring and see where the ground pulse stops. Work backwards from the coil.
