#12992, "Any way to adjust pulleys - squealing after bracket broke"
The bracket that holds the power steering pulley assembly and other stuff cracked. It's the part that bolts to an area near the front of the motor (to the left of the headers). I got it welded back together, but now for some reason I get a squealing noise from the pulleys. The tension is definitely good on the pwoer steering accessory belt because now it's even tighter than it was before. It's a constant, low humming squealing. Can this be caused by the belts, or could it be that the angle of the pulley is not perfectly parallel anymore? Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks.
BTW, the squeal is not nearly as loud as when the belts were not tight enough with my AFX pulley. It's not a loud annoying squeal. Just a squeal like rats are running around or something. You can hear it, but not noticeably like the car is falling apart or something.

my guess is that the axis of the pulleys are not paralell anymore. If you start to notice uneven wear on the belt you will know for sure. You might look into getting a new bracket.

might just be the belts.. if they are the ones that came with the afx pulley... change them.. i wish i had just gotten diff belts with my afx.. cause now i know they suck..
