#129483, "Info on ECU swapping"

Im doing the auto to manual swap and the car the tranny and other parts came from is the 96 GS and mines a 97 GS.

I was wondering if it would be ok to swap the ECU from the 96GS donor to my 97GS.

Wont work, the ECUs are different.

Unless you swap out the entire harness, which adds some time, but is definitely doable emoji

Thanks for the info. I should have known they are different year to year. This whole donor car I bought was pretty much useless for me.

It was snowing here when I pulled the motor and trans and to make it faster i hacked the harness (stupid on my part). Then I found out the webbing on the block was crakced, and the ECU wont fit my car.
