Hey,

I did my headgasket about 4000 miles ago now, and the car goes through water like crazy. I used a MLS HG, ARP head studs, had the valve seals replaced, and the head milled for flatness.

You can see the coolant all down the front of the block, and it appears to be coming from the head.

I ran a compression test on it today while it was warm, these are my numbers:

190-190-190-200

Before I did the HG I was at:

165-165-120-135

I have cleaned off the block and water runs down it again, from what appears to be the head. It will have a dye test done on Friday.

Can just the water jacket part of the HG be blown causing water to seep out?

I find it weird that my compression numbers are pretty good, yet I have what appears to be a blown headgasket.

its possible, I have seen similer on V-8's.

Are you sure its not coming from the bottom of the thermostat housing?

It is possible that is trickling down from there, running across the exhaust gasket and being evenly distributed. When I clean it off, let dry, then start and drive again, its everywhere with clear trails from the runners.

I already ordered another thermostat gasket, should be here next week emoji

Yes.

But look exterior first. Definitely more likely. As Terry said, thermostat housing or that little bit of hose coming from the housing going across the front of the engine likes to leak. Possible leaking in just the right spot to fall down there.

Awesome guys, just what I wanted to hear.

This was the first compression test since I did the HG a few months ago, and I am definitely happy with them emoji

Rented a cooling system pressure today.

Filled with new antifreeze (because the car eats it) and pressurized the system to 18lbs.

Got a flashlight and looked from underneath, clear as day coming from the #3 cylinder between block and head.

Back to square one emoji

My question is...did you install the headbolts or studs correctly and torque them down in the proper pattern/specs? Probably...but just checking.
