Since I have owned my car it always thrown code P1390 - Timing has skipped a tooth or more.

I recently the timing belt a few months ago, and its perfect. Code was still there, kinda guessed it would be. I was going to replace the crank and cam sensors next to try and get rid of it.

But, then I put my ECU in Mikeys car and his in mine (Mikeys timing is perfect, I just did it). His car now throws P1390 and mine does not.

So it travels with the ECU. Couple questions:

Does this actually do anything when the code is thrown? Like pull timing, fuel, etc, etc?

How the hell do I get this off the ECU? Flash by the dealer, or a new ECU?

1390 is an improper relationship between cam and crank timing or something like that, Ive got the same code on my 95 but i am yet to have any problems. I have no idea how to get it off, but my car throws like 3 different codes so w/e.

what year do you have? I believe there is an updated ECU calibration that may address that issue. last time i saw that code though on a 96 Dodge Neon, it killed the injectors and spark because the computer thinks the timing belt broke. sometimes it's just the software parameters being too narrow though. you could probably call your local dealers and have them look up if there's programming available. sometimes they're too lazy to do so over the phone. i work at a dealer, i would know lol.
