I recently bought the Crane HI-6DI2 ignition to be used with my portfueler setup. The question I have is do I need to use the electronic dual trigger switch made by crane so that I can use the crane ignition on my car? It says the trigger switch is needed so that a capacitive discharge ignition system can be used on an OBD2 vehicle.

I got mine from Mike Kaluga and he never did. Ran fine.

The trigger to my knowledge is just to keep the ecu "Seeing" a pair of coils. If not a CEL will be the result. It will run fine otherwise.
