#127432, "engine code"

Hello,

My check engine light came on today. I took it to autozone and it read error code PO171,

Based on that it means fuel mixture lean.

I went into the wiki and looked up what could be causing it. It says that it could be the map, oxygen sensor, or even a mechanical thing.
I will do a compression test tomorrow, but what do you guys think it could be? Could it be what I have done to the engine? I have a low compression, race port on the head with 5 degree valve job, oversized valves and crane 16's. I doubt that could be it, but just wondering.

Also, the car has a funky idle, like as if it was stuck on cold start. On that note when I smell the exhaust gases they smell as if the car was running rich; which could mean that the O2 sensor is about to take a dump.

what do you guys think?

Thanks

Oscar

I wish I had blown it, believe me, I do...

I would check the O2 sensors, most importantly the downpipe one upstream.

If by resetting the ECU you mean unplugging it for 15 minutes, I already did that. Will try it again though.

Crane 16's are somewhat lopey Barza, so your idle is probably normal for your cams.

BTW, sell them to me emoji

LOL! I will sell them once I get my next ride lol.

This idle is different, the rpms fall really low as if it wants to die.

could it possibly be a dying coolant temp sensor? that can fuck with the AF ratio as well.

might want to bust out a multimeter and check that.
