My kid came over with that belt screech and I popped the hood and had him turn the wheel while idling.

The pulley on the pump would freeze and release causing the belt to scream.

My simple answer is replace the pump but am I missing anything here?

Also he overfilled the resivor a few weeks ago when it started making noise. Did that cause a failure?

Thanks for any imput!

could be loose also, push down on the belt to check if it is and you might wanna tighten the tensioner on it.

Mine screech when its damp, I park my 2g on grass sometimes, it will do the same when its rainy.

You can also spray Wd-40 on the pulley It will stop the screech for awhile.

Take a 14mm to the tensioner. First loosen up the bolt that goes right through the pulley. Then tighten the tensioner. It's difficult to get a ratchet in there with the stock fan setup, so if you have one of those cool 14mm ratchet wrenches use it!
