I searched..Couldn't get detailed answer..The car is all torn apart. I don't plan on driving it for months.. So I got the power steering and all that junk out and cleaned up pasenger side. Now I wanna atleast get ECU out.. Its a 97 gs and I was wondering if I could just extend the wires on the 2 harness plugs and stash the ECU under the passenger side seat.. Would I get CEL from resistance? Would all readings be smooth? Any help please

Resistant in a wire is determined by the size, length, and type of wire you use. You will likely throw off the readings on your thermocouple and potentiometer based sensors (IE Temperature & TPS) as they are extremely sensitive (especially the TPS) but probably not enough to hurt anything or cause a CEL if you use good solid connections(solder and shrinkwrap) and the same size wire(not all the wires in the PCM are the same size check the pinout). Personally I wouldn't do it and instead make a nice clean polished sheet metal cover for it and loom the wires to whatever color I wanted. -OR- Go MSnS standalone and you won't have to worry about that pesky CEL and can put it basically anywhere you want.

Just my .02
