Just 2 feet? I bought a whole roll of the stuff and a hose cutter.

I've had an issue of manifold heat breaking the hose down, and leaking pretty quickly. I've got a little piece of GM EGR tube wrap on it now, seems to help somewhat in keeping immediate hot air off it... If you can, find at least a 2-ply heater hose instead of the standard single, it'll hold up longer. A bit harder to put on, but less you'll have to mess with it in the long run.
