I have a question about the PTFE/teflon manifold spacers.... I was driving down the road the other day in my 91 gsx and a group of 1 & 2g's caught my eye, I stopped to see what was going on, just a gathering of DSM's.... I am new to this town again so I thought that was rather kewl to see DSM's gathering in a town that was once overrun by old school muscle and honda's, I saw a rather exotic looking boosted 2g 420a, I noticed the head-intake, both peices of his intake and TB had a clear/white spacer, I thought... PTFE.... so I asked him where he got the PTFE spacer for the head-intake and the TB because I was kind of curious as to where I could get them, I also own a 99 OZ GS.... he said he made them for less than $20.00 for all 3 peices. He said he had used the 1/4" thick teflon cutting boards from walmart and cut them himself and placed a gasket on both sides to insure a good seal. My curiousity has got the better of me... seeing as how he was rite, they do sell 1/4" thick "teflon" cutting boards at walmart... would that be pretty much the same thing as the PTFE spacer that I bought from SYMTECH for my 99 for $79.00?

I doubt the cutting board is anywhere near durable enough to work.

Stick with the Symtech batch you ordered

The problem with pure PTFE (Teflon) is that it's susceptible to cold flow. It'll work fine as a cutting board, but when you try to use it as a mechanical part (i.e. a gasket) its cold flow will eventually form leaks and deformations until it's useless.
