#125875, "97 fuel rail & fuel return line"

Hey guys,
Sup everyone!
Got a question regarding my return fuel line.
My turbo charged 1995 Eclipse's stock FPR is leaking since the past year. (after I disabled it - drill it out - lasted for 6 years) I finally have the time to replace the entire fuel rail since I have a 1997 fuel rail laying around in my garage. (Currently my fuel setup is using Aeromotive 13109 FPR and Megasquirt)

My question is this, I realize the 1997 fuel rail has only the fuel feed line and no return fuel line like 1995. So before I make any intelligent or dumb decision, I want to confirm with you guys.
Do I just CUT the fuel feel line that goes to the fuel rail and TEE to my aeromotive FPR input. And the output of the aeromotive FPR goes straight to the existing return fuel line?

Thanks guys.
Gil

the 97 rail should have a return flare/AN fitting at the end of it. If it doesn't, i'd weld one on.

return side of the rail->13109->tank

I am very confused.
I thought only 95-96 eclipse has the FPR on the fuel rail and the fuel rail has input and output.
and 97-99 fuel rail do not have FPR and no return fuel line?

I am positive the fuel rail has only one port and that is the input.
Any other suggestions guys?

Later style fuel rails have the feed on the driver's side and a test port/schrader on the passenger side. Using a tire valve core remover, remove the needle and run a line to your Aeromotive FPR and on to the tank.

Bingo.

Now that Gil's posted again, it means I'll have to write up another obituary one of these days...

damn, I have to check out the fuel rail again.. I didn't notice there is a bleed valve on it.

The reason I asked is that... From what I understand, the newer fuel system has only one feed line to the fuel rail. but back from the fuel tank where the feed line coming out from the fuel pump, TEE off to the FPR which returns back to the tank.

In this case, I can do the same but just the TEE is extended from the fuel tank to the engine bay with the existing return fuel line. Isn't this correct?

So I don't have to find an adapter that fit the bleed value which create a return fuel line. I can just cut the fuel feed line, TEE it to the FPR which then goes to the return fuel line back to the fuel tank.

Doesn't that work as well?
I just thought I understand the fuel setup in our cars, so I want to see if my logic/knowledge make sense.
Thanks all.
Gil

Hello,
Can anyone provide the source in where they get the adapter that fit onto the test port? Thx.

I know a -4an fitting will fit right on the test port. Earls fitting part number EAR-300104ERL

Bingo. Braided SS lines that come in the EFI Wet kits by NX, NOS, etc include all that.
