#125695, "95 M/T ECU ?s and code 36"
May-21-09 11:30 AM by 740 turbo brick

I just installed a different ECU in my 95 GS. It originally had ECU 5269656, but was updated at the dealer to get rid of the Secondary Air bullshit. That ECU failed on me, so I bought another, 5269658, which was for an automatic. My car had a constant CEL for no tranny computer and would redline at 6400 instead of 7200. I just got another ECU from mreigle, the same PN as my original ECU. It works great, but I have CEL 36 for the SAI solenoid. Apparently this ECU wasnt reflashed at the dealer. Im hesitant to take it to them and ask them to do it, because my car already had it done and has the dealer sticker on it, and because the ECU failed only 5 years after having it done.

My other question was about the fuel maps in Auto vs. Manual ECUs. I would get around 32 mpg on my scangauge with the auto ECU. I put in the manual, and at 60 its showing me getting 50 or higher mpg. Im also fairly certain that the manuals have injector cutoff whereas autos do not, based on the exhaust sound and my scanner. Any thoughts?
