Hello all, Im new to the forums. I have a Blue 95 eclipse GS. I love it the way it is!!
Anyway, Yesterday i filled it with coolant all the full on the t-neck and put the cap back on, then filled the overflow bin to cold. This was done when the motor was completly cold.
Was i not supposed to do that, because today when i got to work my motor was steaming from coolant spray, the coolant got all over my hood, my block a little. The spray spot is right above the rad cap and above the radiator itself. Is this jsut spray from being too full??

thermostat housing. It sprayed on the hood. It also has radiator fluid on the ground right under the my old A/C bracket, which is right under that thermostat housing.

ok found where theres dripping coolant, coming from this metal hose above my headers that goes to the thermostat housing. Its leaking at a rubber part tube part. I believe that is the heatercore supply?? or return??
Would it make a difference about this, i had my heat on and defrost on with the fan circulating in car or w.e...does that open the heatercore?? and is that why it leaked out of the messed up rubber pipe??

You are correct I believe that is a heater core line I want to say return but someone correct me if im wrong. Yes turning on your heat opens the heater core but if that hose your talking about is cracked it will probably leak regardless if the heater core is open or closed. It may have been a small leak before causing your coolant to go low and it was just a coincidence that it got worse when you filled it IMO. Just go to the parts store and replace it.

Those 4" heater hoses are pretty common to leak due to old age. Coolant flows thru those pipes whether the heater is on or not. It's like a 50 cent fix with some 5/8" heater hose which is sold by the foot at most auto part stores.

Exactly, had one of these split on me and coolant was everywhere in the engine bay. Steamed up and smelled sweet like a mofo.
The problem is that small hose sits awfully close to the exhaust manifold and absorbs a lot of heat. The hose breaks down over time.
