Ok so I put a 99 eclipse gs motor in my 96 eclipse gs. I have changed out all the sensors and accesories and wiring harness and everything are hooked up but the car will not start. It cranks but will not fire up and is not getting a spark. Have tried numerous times to do the key dance on the car to show me the check engine and whats wrong and it just wont do it. The motor that was in the car had no problems starting or running but the motor blew up hence the new motor. Nothing has been touched on the computer or wires or anything. just unbolted the long block motor unhooked the harnesses and pulled it out and put new on in and reconnected the motor mounts and harness and lines. Anybody have an idea on whats wrong?

I would do a double-check of every sensor in the engine bay and ensure it is properly connected. Make sure you didn't miss anything. Also check to ensure the relays are intact along the drivers side firewall in the corner.
Start simple and if you're lucky that might be the only issue and you're good to go.

yeah i checked the harness and connections multiple times especially when i went around the block and swapped the sensors. The relays i have no idea how to check those but there all tight in place. the car had no problems starting or anything with the old motor in it 2 weeks ago and i never touched the relays or computer or anything. i checked all the fuses and havent found any that are blown or worn. the starter cranks good but not getting a spark. could the starter be bad? when i blew the old motor up a piece of the block shattered the starter so i bought a junk yard starter and put it in but again it cranks fine. the ignition pack and all is off my old block so i know thats not bad. i cant even get the car to do a key dance and throw a code.

posted from a different thread. (please try to keep any issues you have or have tested within your thread you started. The more you spread out what you've done in different threads the harder it is for people to try to help you.
Don i got a new ecu today and hooked it up and tried to start it and no change. So unless both ecu's are bad which i highly doubt cause the original worked fine before i put the new motor in, i think we can rule out a bad ecu. I picked up some new relays today have yet to put them in due to no light but ill try it tomorrow and let you know what happens. Any other ideas on what could cause this issue guys?

on a side note, some early production 95's have some of their own odd sensors that don't cross to any other years.
I forget which but just so everyong knows.
