ive been having power loss issues with my engine that have gradually been getting worse over time. 1st off ive got a 95 talon, bone stock. anyways, ive been having problems with what seems to be a cylinder misfiring while in regular traffic conditions that isnt quite as noticeable when im flooring it (except for a big loss in power). its kindof tough to explain but it feels like its running lean on one cylinder sometimes and causing itermittent power loss. i already know about all the sensors that i should be checking, but theres another symptom that makes me think there may be something else causing this issue.

i never used to have any problems with my car when my low fuel light came on and my car started running a little leaner. now that ive gradually been having this power loss problem, whenever my low fuel light comes on and the engine runs leaner it all of the intermittent power loss problems become amplified. on top of all this, my mpg has been getting gradually worse with the problem and my exhaust fumes have been getting stinkier. like i said in the subject line, its not throwing any codes. plug wires arent that old, already had that problem long ago. what do you guys think? bad injector? something else?

I had a similar issue with my 95, slowly got a little worse and worse. turned out to be a gunked injector but I whipped up a little fuel "coctail" that took care of it for quite a while.

I started with a 5 gallon gas can, empty.

added:
1/2 bottle of Stabil fuel stabilizer
1 quart lucas fuel system treatment
1 can BG44K
1 can Seafoam
1 gallon E85
fill the rest of the way with regular octane fuel (85-87 depending on where you live)

put this in a nearly empty tank and drive the piss out of it.

A fuel cocktail? Very interesting. Kind of like a laxative.

i finally was able to check my plugs while on an empty tank today and i think i found the main sounrce of my problem. the dialectric grease i used on my plug wires has been causing a spark problem. i cleaned them out some and put them back in and the car is back to its old self. im probably gonna get new wires sometime later this week, but im definetly not using that dielectric crap this time

When was the last time you changed your fuel filter?

Also, what did your spark plugs look like last time you checked them? You can tell if you have a lean cylinder or if it may be another issue. Did you have any oil on your plugs? A leaky tube seal could cause a cylinder misfire due to oil.
