#12449, "Fuel Filter Replacement...where?"

I purchased a new fuel filter for my 96 GS assuming it was behind the battery in the engine bay. Unless I'm extremely blind, I didn't see it... Any help in helping me with the location of my fuel filter is appreciated.

Thanks,

Tybalt

I was told that the 95 and 96 fuel filter was located underneath the washer fluid, correct me if I'm wrong guys. I have a 99 and it's underneath the car just in front of the left rear wheel.

I have a 96 and the fuel filter is just in front of the passenger side rear wheel. if you change it make sure you unscrew the fuel lines BEFORE you take the filter out of its clamp. I tried to remove the filter then take the fuel lines off, and I ended up putting the whole thing back together just to get the fuel lines off.

Thanks for the info...but can you be more specific? I looked in front of the passenger side wheel well but there is only a plastic canister with some electrical connection and two rubber hoses attached. I know that this can't be the metal fuel filter I'm looking for...any other suggestions?

thanks!

it is infront of the rear pass side wheel well. take a look at the service manual link on the main discussion page (top left corner) there might be some good pics of the fuel system.
