I bought one of those cheapo 2 piece cold air setups (the ones with the crappy filters). I got everything to finally fit and ended up buying a better filter. My problem is this:
What is the 2nd vacuum line for??I already have the smaller one (on the short piece) going to the valve cover, but on the longer section there is another vacuum 'nipple' with a larger diameter. I didn't notice another on the stock intake setup. (stupid ebay)

Lol, I had one of those once on another car. The units are "universal". They're intended for a broader range of uses. I'm not sure what application the nipple's for but just cap it and don't worry at all.

BTW, did you get it from "Kenny" at urmarketoutlet on Ebay? He's a middle man with only an office. All his stuff is drop shipped and he has no idea what he is really listing. I stay away from "Urmarketoutlet" because of past problems.

If it is the one I am thinking of, it is for the early 2Gs with the Air Injection System used to pump clean air into the exhaust stream.

No, mine is a threaded port and just past the vacuum nipple on the upper end of the pipe. (Which may have been added after the fact as it is second, possibly third hand.) I thought he was referring to that. But, now that I've seen the type of intake he's talking about. Mine doesn't have the port for the secondary intake.

Yes. Its for the secondary air injection system or whatever that was recalled and removed from 95 Eclipses/Talons. My car has the connector hanging and plugged off. I just put a rubber vacuum plug on my intake.
Also, being Ebay cheapo CAI, they all do the same thing. Sure, AEM spent alot on R&D, and Id like to have one of theirs, but for the power gains Im happy with the $30 I spent on mine.

I was just making sure I wasn't missing something. Thanks for the input guys.
Yes it's just a regular vacuum nipple. I believe I got the intake from some other ebay powerseller...all I know, the filter was total crap!! And they 'described' the item like it was 3" tubing...so not the case. So finding another filter was a little challenging. I ended up using a filter for a 3" and used the reducer that was on the filter itself. Temporary-of course.
You definately can't beat the functionality of it for $40 though.
