Damn that block is expensive. CI motorsports was going to do my block pretty much the same except standard bore for 1700 and that came with oil pan already tapped for oil return, melling oil pump, and waterpump, but has eagle rods which is 300 bucks less than crower but crowers are overrated for this motor and they handle about the same power. plus shipping before i found a completely built long block. anyway, you'll still need oil pump, water pump, timing belt kit with NEW tensioner and pulley. pick up some ARP headstuds if you are planning to boost it. Did you get the 8:8:1 compression or the 10:5:1?

A good way would be to order an engine kit from Modern Performance or similar, under the 95-99 Neon section. Pick up a spare motor too.

It comes with pretty much everything you need for the bottom end.

Then drop the block and kit off at a machine shop you trust, have them bore and assemble. Block done.

Then order the top end kit, which comes with cams, gears, rockers, lifters, springs, gaskets, etc, etc. So some research on who can port you a head, then have it assembled. Head done.

Now assemble and drop off emoji

That is probably a better way to go if you do not want a shit load of turn-around time for having an engine built online at a shop. Modern Performance will probably have these kits in stock most of the time and should ship fairly quickly. Only problem with that is you dont know if you need oversize main or rod bearings unless you check first which of course requires the motor to be taken apart. But if you have another car to drive, then i would go this route.
