ok so i have a 99 GS 420a motor
right now my problem is that my belt keeps squeeling while i'm driving and while i'm idling, it worsens when i drive. i had the whole job done to replace everything, got it all replace, but before that broke like 10 belts. after i got it all replace, i broke 1 or 2. the belt is all tight right now, it just keeps squeeling. i went to my mechanics today and he said he can't figure it out and he's going to call the belt company up and figure out what they have to say
so ANYONE have any ideas or suggestions? please help me out

1)Cranshaft pulley is aligned after the last timing belt change? 2)Are you sure the belt has been tighted enough? Sometimes it takes just a little more 3)Do the a/c, p/s, and tensioner pulleys spin freely? If a bearing is going bad in one of them, it's possible they are causing resistance to turning and hence putting a force on the belt causing it to slip

not that its really slipping now but its just squeeling. yeah the belt has been tightened enough everythign was aligned, i just got the motor re-built during the summer, then all those pullys started going so i had that job done, 200 something dollars later, after the job with fixing everything with all the pulleys, the belt tore one more time, so he threw in (i think this is what he said) an idler from an old eclipe that he had in the back so it stopped squeeling for a little, then it started back up again, he tightened the belt 3 days later it started squeeling again

I'm gonna lean towards the mis-aligned crank pulley or the tensioner pulley bearing is taking a shit

I'm going to say that the geometry is not quite there or the idler pulley is having problems.
Tek was getting at spraying the idler pulley itself, not using the stop sqeak belt stuff. He's driving at finding the source by seeing if the WD at the pulley will affect the noise.

Check to make sure no brackets are bent. It took me a year and a half of throwing belts to figure out my PS pump bracket was bent. No power steering = I was much more muscular back then.

I went through half a 100+ degree summer with no PS/AC and I had the headliner removed in my dark green 95 because the crank pulley was damaged and kept chewing up belts. I had some nice guns/shoulders and lost a few pounds that summer
