#123828, "Got the ECU out finally.."

But theres a problem. I spend almost an hour with a drill and various blunt objects and get the ECU out of my 95. I come to find out the threaded sleeve in side the ECU was spinning, keeping the bolt stationary.

I get the other ECU in, car starts right up and is idleing fine. Throttle response is MUCH better than with last ECU. About 30 seconds into running, CEL comes on. Code 66, for no signal from TCM. :| So apparently this ECU is for an auto nt dsm. Will this have any negative affects on driving, or will I just always have a CEL on? I can live with that. Im planning on driving around with the old ECU as a spare in the back, just for good measure.

You won't be able to pass emissions with the CEL and your redline will be lowered to 6464rpm. Otherwise, you will be fine. I drove mine with an ATX ecu for about 6 months after I did my swap with the TCU disconnected and had no problems.

Shit I forgot about autos having a lower redline. What is manuals redline? Im planning on getting the $200 ECU from ebay where you give them your vin and they send you the ECU designed for your car. This works for now though.

The manual redline is 7200rpm. Not that the car makes power that high though.

This ECU is going to be a problem, the other day it was nice enough out to give my car a good run thru the gears. Sure enough, slammed into that rev limiter in first. And this CEL is just getting annoying. I wont be able to see if something else comes up.

This is the ECU from ebay I was talking about. Anyone ever heard of anyone buying one, or think its a good deal? I searched thru their feedback and everyone said its brand new, works perfect and fixed all their problems.

You forgot to include a link. I got my current ECU on eBay IIRC and I've had no problems with it after a year.
