#123722, "Oil sandwich adapter for oil pressure switch/ turbo oil feed"

I did a search about this to see if it was posted before and came up with nothing. It looks like a pretty good design. Was just browsing around ebay and stumbled across it.

I had one of these before, though it was not that brand, and it leaked oil all the time. I dont know why, but it always did.

Wow I'm glad you said that Mike. I was really considering this for my 420a just so I could hook up the stocker switch and a manual gauge ss line. I like the way it looks like it will support weight and probably be good for vibration too, but crap, I don't want to be leaking oil. No offense, but were you using teflon tape everywhere too? Thanks! (I still like this design...dammit) emoji

I forgot to ask the most important thing. This will fit on a 420a, right? I know the 3/8 NPT is correct but that's all. Thanks guys. emoji

It says it comes with an o-ring for it, which is all that the stock adapter uses, but that's still not to say that this one wouldn't leak.

I'm wondering if the o-ring seats properly as the face of the unit just touches the block nicely. That's what I'm looking for. Hate to blow $40 and find out it hangs off the block. Although I could always make a soft rubber shim type of thing.

The one I had used an oring too. Didnt really seat against oil block very good, thats why I think it leaked. That looks like a decent quality piece though. No I did not use teflon....I dont use teflon on anything unless it goes into a coolant jacked or near coolant threads.

I use one to feed my oil cooler and it works fine. No leaks. I also used locktite on the bolt that holds the adapter on so it wouldn't come loose. Also used a shorter filter to keep it from being lower than the oil pan.

I've been using a Permacool sandwich adapter to feed my oil cooler for about 8 years without a leak. Mine is a little thicker (~1.5") to support larger ports, but the concept is the same. I did end up getting a shorter filter (PL10193) to keep from scraping.

.......been out looking at the car; decided I like this idea and am willing to try it. I'll post again when I get it as to what I think of craftsmanship and then again when I install it as to functionality, etc. Wish me luck, lol.

Here are two filters that are shorter that work:

Purolater # L10193

Wow, thanks! I had no idea. Back in the 60's & 70's Fram was the name to use. I'll go with the Purolater then. Thanks again, Erik.

I got my oil filter sandwich today. It's from GlowShift on ebay.
It's 1.125 thick with 4 ports-all threads a good clean class 2. I'm putting teflon tape on everything except the filter itself.

I've been using the Glowshift one on my boosted ride now for over a year with on issues. Using it for oil temp and turbo oil feed. The other two ports are blocked off. Works nice but does drop your filter a little low...
