i have a 95 esi you can start the motor with no noise after a few minutes it starts making a knockin noise it does it around 2 times a second its not a internals knock i was thinkin maybe a/s pulley please help

Hmm, can you narrow it down to the front of the engine or something? Use a screwdriver to the ear as a stethoscope to help find where it is coming from. If you can get the noise on video, it may help us.

If you are pretty sure that it is the ps pump, you can take off the belt to help you narrow it down.

Not sure if this is pertinent but I had a wierd pulley knock/scratch kind of noise, usually only heard at idle or just taking off in 1st. Turns out my timing belt cover had cracked and was rubbing a cam pulley. Hate to admit this next part but I just revvved up the motor and pushed the cover over for a few seconds and wore the part that was rubbing away........(sheepish grin)

alright thank you guys i figured it out it was that aluminum canister makin the noise screwdriver helped a hell of alot thanks again
