I would like to know which exhaust you guys think would be better, the tanabe racing medallion or the Apex i N1 i have read reviews of both and even nt eclipse like the racing medallion better even if it does have pretty big exhaust pipe, just wanted you guyses input first. I do not want to get a universal muff and pacesetter cat back piping.

My opinion would be to get a custom exhaust maybe a 3"

Brand name companies are nice but for those prices....DAMN!

if you plan on staying n/a, dont even think about gettin a 3inch exhaust system. with a 2.5, youwill lose power down low, but gain up top.

have no opinion about either of the two u mentioned. i am wondering about your distinct choice not to choose the Psetter.
do you want to spend more money on purpose??

Well, here's my 2 cents. Personally, I'm not a fan of the Apex exhausts. Shaun Frank has one on his RS. Its sounds pretty good, but the quality isnt exactly impressive. Especially for the price. As far as Tanabe, I dislike them. Just a personal thing. Now about the size of the piping. 2.5" is probably the best diameter use when going the N/A route. Also, these catbacks designed for the GS-T's often dont have any resonators. This will give your car a really nasty farty noise. The turbo on a GS-T acts as a perfect resonator, so there's no need for one to be inline on the piping. About 3" giving big losses, yeah, you'd probably see a small loss of torque in the lower RPMs. Maybe. Nothing you'd notice. I have a 3" Greddy Power Extreme catback, and personally, I would have nothing else. Didnt seem to slow my car down any. emoji The quality of the Greddy PE and Evo systems are unmatched, and the sound is something you wont hear from any other exhausts. After three years of use, its still flawless. It is quite loud though. Makes the Apex'i sound quiet in comparison.

Thanks for the infor Kahn, as long as you dont think it will be a huge loss in low end i would rather like to go with the tanabe, when you say a loss in the low end to mean in like in the rpm ranges b/c if thats it i will just deal with it. To me the apex would be a second choice if you think it would be better, but, i would not care if the loss in torque would be about the same in both exhaust.

Alos the two exhaust i found a specifaclly made for the not turbo, so no farty noise.

Just to let everyone else know, from my experience,Thermal R&D really makes a bad ass catback.I fired it up and WOW.Deep as it's gonna get.And it's stainless from the tip to the piping.I read around different boards for different cars and Thermal was a consistent choice.Too bad I gotta let it go.But that's another story.

I have a Greddy SP catback for $475 shipped right now, its on ebay so it wont last much much longer, but I will cancel the auction if a 2gnt member wants it.

don't know about the 5zigen, but i agree with aj on the thermal r&d exhaust. if i didn't get such a great deal on this borla (which i love btw), i would've gotten a thermal.

I just love flooring it under freeway under passes and tunnels, better in traffic.
