last night i was pushin the talon a bit, well when i pulled into my driveway i could hear a high pitch whine from the ecu when the key was out of the ignition. The ecu is new so i dont understand why it would be making noises. anyone else have this happen? also when i hear it if i go and put the key in the ignition turn it to the on position, then back off the whine goes away...im lost

same. even with new ECU, so I dont believe it signifies failure.

Try taking one through security at O'Hare. Boy. Was that fun. emoji

The chemical analyzer: EXPLOSIVES DETECTED! EXPOLOSIVES DETECTED! All flashing that shit on a giant red screen. People all over staring at me. I'm standing there, barefoot, holding my pants up by hand since I had to take off my belt, and having to explain to the high school drop out in charge of our national security that it's a computer out of the engine bay of a car. "See? It says Mitsubishi right there!" I had to explain this to the choads running the x-ray machine. I had to explain this to the choad who did the swab test for explosives. I had to explain this to his supervisor. I had to explain it to his supervisor. Then, I looked up at the surveillance camera and explained it to big brother as well.

They took my boarding pass AND my wallet, but I after I signed a paper promising not to blow up the airplane, they gave them back. In a way, I was a bit disappointed. emoji

Thanks to Cas for doing such a stand up job of cleaning his ECU. emoji

The ECU does all kinds of stuff after you pull out the key... I believe one of the things it does is check the oxygen sensor heater circuit.

I can't remember where I read it but a while back I heard that it makes that noise because the ECU is hot and its cooling down or something.

What is that buzzing noise from under the hood after the car is turned off (especially after long or hard driving)?

This is perfectly normal. The sound is the ECU going through a diagnostic mode and also cooling down.

Found taken straight from the 2GNT mainpage FAQ I guess I was half right.

All of mine have done that.

If you're really worried about it, spend the next year going to metal concerts, and hanging out near the speakers.
