Ok, I know that this is going to be very vague, but I have tried nearly everything and cannot figure this out.
Here is the situation: I completed installing my turbo. Took the car out for a test drive, and around 3500-4000 rpm the car would die. Well, I immediately assumed that this was due to a POS missing link which I have read about on this site and noticed did not have such a good track record. Well, I was test driving the car, reving it to 4000rpm, it would die, yada yada. I did this about 4-5 times cause the test drive was around the block and as soon as boost came up this would happen. Well about the 5th time this happened the car completly died. Not just a fuel cut. When I tried to restart the car I got nothing, just turned over. I checked fuel pressure, and that is fine. I was just driving the car so I am to assume that most other things are fine, like fuel injectors working etc. Well, I went through the basics, compression, got it, fuel pressure, got it, and spark... well that is the weird thing. Don't think I have it. I don't know what would suddenly cause the car to not get spark.
I thought maybe I broke the MAP sensor, then I decided that the car would run without it, it would just run really bad, so that can't be it. Could it be the cam position sensor? Why all of a sudden would there be no spark? Did the ECU die maybe?
Also, here is another wierd tid bit of info. When I reset the ECU, the car starts briefly like it normally does when you reset the ECU then dies. Which I think this is normal... Anyhow, that tells me that I the ignition is at least working, cause it starts briefly when the ECU is reset. But once I go to start it after that it does the same thing. I just don't get it.
Last thing that might help a little. I have noticed my parking brake light on. So I fiddled with the switch, noticed that even with the wire completly disconnected and ungrounded that the light is still on. After tracing the wiring diagram, I noticed that it doesn't go anywhere else but the ECU. So I figure maybe it is grounding out via the ECU somewhere causing the light to stay on. Does that make since, and does it sound indicitive of an ECU problem?
I know this is kinda vague, but I also know you guys can solve nearly any problem. Please help
