I want to say rebuild that sucker but that probably won't be happening so my suggestion to you is to get a beater for the time being and work on rebuilding at a slower pace to not make you broke.

Its always a good idea to have another car, regardless of what it is, as a back-up when owning these cars.
As for what to do about transportation... bum rides off friends, borrow the parent's car or ride a bike as mentioned above. You could even take the bus.

Yea, My car only sees about 3000 miles a year due to it breaking/getting my license taken away/insurance/breaking. It really isn't that bad getting rides around from people if you have to. Sure sometimes it means waiting at places for a few hours but hey it works. I would say get a cheap beater and bum rides as much as you can while saving for a nice rebuild.

Dude that sucks, I have a rebuilt stock motor with only 10k miles on it. PM me and we can work out a deal seeing as how this is your daily. If the head is fucked up too, I can throw in my spare as well.
