I am considering getting the perma-cool oil filter especially since they have one specificially for the NT eclipse. I have been reading where people have been installing these useful thingies but has anyone T'd off the fitting to use for a pressure gauge. The aftermarket oil pressure gauge I have is T'd off of the back of the block where the oil line for the turbo is and then remote mounted through copper lines to the sender. I had to do it that way because the sender is so large that it would get it in the way of moving parts if it came straight out. I dont trust that I am getting a correct reading since the oil has to get pumped so far before it even hits the sender.

You could have the sender on a 50' extension tube and you'll still get the same pressure reading.
I would stay with tapping off the factory location, even if it involves a long bit of tubing to do it. Reading pressure elsewhere in the system may not correlate well to knowing what is really happening further downstream.
