#122970, "Where does the fuel vac line hook up to???"
So I just got done droppin in a new stock engine, this time on my own by myself, and neways I got a cel for p1490 which is auxillary emissions control, and from searchin the boards Ive found out that i should have checked all the vac lines. So i was lookin behind the engine and I found a fairly medium size vac line that said fuel and emissions on it.
From searchin I have found that the cel means that the fuel vac pump is gettin the job done properly, so I thought well by golly this line must be it. I just took off one of the cruise control vac hoses off the 3 prong on the manifold and plug the fuel emissions hose on that. Reset the battery, and everything was fine. no cel ( but that was only cuz i reset the battery) the cel comes back on tonight so Im thinking I must have hooked up the fuel emissions vac line to the wrong port.
Anyone know where this goes? Its about the size of the brake booster vac line.

More than likely its you vac line to the Leak detection pump.
Since i am not sure and i am looking at a full diagram in mitchell on demand i will describe each line so you can verify if all is hooked up correctly.
Wow this is really different than my 97!
Ok 2 things to clear up and set as foundation.....Intake has 2 rear ports for vacuum. TB has only one.
Ok Lets start at the Manifold rear port on the drivers side:
1 outlet port 1. line from intake - Brake booster...from brake booster to heater controls in side car
Ok Pass side port 3 way outlet port 1. line from intake -EGR solinoid 2. line from intake - Vacuum resevoir (cruise) 3. Line from intake - Leak detection pump******this might be your unknown line! --------a. from leak detection pump to vacuum canister ******canister has 2 outlets************ -------------1. canistor - gas tank liquid separator -------------2. canistor - evap purge solinoid ----------------a. purge solinoid to TB port On engine valve cover PCV port to intake fron side Breather assy to air duct
Thats the entire vac system for emmisions on the 99.
Things like this are why i offered copies of mitchell on demand a while back.

Wow, i really appreciate all that info Star
However, Im still a little confused. So according to that reading, the big fuel emissions (leak detec. pump) hose that I have connected to 1/3 prongs on the back of the mani should goto a canister. Then from the canister it splits off two ways?

that large line will go from the intake to the leak detection pump. another line from the leak detection pump to the charcoal canister. the the canistor goes in 2 directions.
