#122897, "car is crapping out on me"

When I hit the gas my car stutters like its starving for gas. I would have to keep pumping the gas for it to finally kick in. Everytime I let off the gas and then hit it again it would do the samething. It progressively(sp?) got worse over time. I was told to put fuel injector cleaner in it so i tried that and it worked almost immediatley. The car ran perfectly fine. The next day when I tried to start the car up it did the same thing again. I then changed my fuel filter and that didnt work. Finally I took it to my mechanic. I told him i thought it was the fuel injectors but he said the fuel pressure was fine and that it didnt sound like an injector problem. He tried a bunch of other stuff but to no avail. I do have a custom turbo kit which has a leak in the ic pipe on my car and I suspect that maybe its the sfmu thats faulty, but the fp gauge is showing normal numbers. I honestly think its the injectors though. Any thoughts?(sorry about the horrible grammar and spelling)

I think its possibly injectors. If you want to try cleaning them, take the car to a shop that actually has injector cleaner that runs throught the fuel system. Not that cheap add it to your gas tank crap. That shit hardly works longterm.

Or get a used set from a car being parted out for 30.00 and swap them in.

Make sure your tune up is up to date, if ot do that at the same time.

Terry

Are the spark plugs ok? I had a similar problem as what you are stating and I took them out and they had pretty much no tips left on them.

Spark plugs would not create a lack of vacuum.
