paid 950 for it ... only things supposedly wrong with it is one bent valve .... which i have an extra head with only 2K miles on it so just swap heads out and i should be ready to run ....


car has been sitting for about 3 months and i saw the guy disconnected the thermostat housing and in the housing itself and inside the head where the housing connects to there was some what looked like rust but water... like when you run a hose on something rusted and you see that brown water come off ... should that be a problem like in the engine or not since im changing heads anyway ...

inside is very clean missing the shift boot but i have extra ... fender is dented but i have an extra one just have to sand and paint that ... over everything looks good

Its impossible to be just one bent valve you probably got about 10-12 bent valves.. Its ok though just replace em all with steel valves make it nice. I threw my belt 1 time and it bent 12 valves.

I also only bent 2 vales and i didn't even brake the timing belt. I still haven't figured that one out. what happened was just the 2 intake vales on the 4th cyl bent.

As for the cooling fluid, be careful. They have, on the market, a coolant that is brown in color . Why , I don't know. That being said, if it is rust then there is a possibility that there MAY be a problem with the block rusting up or having blocked passages. I say MAY because it is unlikely, but possible. What's more probable is that the radiator needs to be replaced and the system needs to be flushed.

Since you are doing the belt, you will be replacing the water pump (which is a good thing). You might want to give it a good flush with the components out. Do you have very good heat? The heater core is something that gets blocked up when rust is bouncing around in the system.
