I believe that a harmonic balancer puller is used, if I'm wrong then hopefully somebody else will correct me.

Yep. What he said ^^^. Should be able to find one just about anywhere: pep boys, autozone, sears...

Edit: you're looking for something like this-

You may have to get new bolts for it though because some puller sets, like the one above, only have two bolts per size. Im not 100% on this but i think the bolts that hold on the AC compressor are just the right size

You don't need new bolts to take out the pulley. They provide you with some.

You can also rent it at the Zone for 16 dollars and then take it back to get your money.

When I did mine, it took a lot of heat. Basically glowing before it broke loose.
