OK. I got my car with the intentions of driving it for a little while, then get something better. After a cluth and transmission failure, I realised I somehow loved it too much to sell it.
I have a new tranny, clutch, master and slave cylinder, and am getting all the lines soon. The car was very poorly taken care of, so alot is needed. Next up is wheel bearing for the rear wheels. Anyone know where to find them?
Motor build would be next. I'm thinking all motor. A little head work and a little higher compression. I would be more than satisfied with 170ishWHP. I'm gonna get an old motor and go from there.

It's gonna be alot of work, and cost a pretty penny. With a few extra hours at work a week, and some help from you guys, I'll have a "new" 2GNT.

Just gonna let you guys know you've got one more here with their heart in it.

Corey

Nice, Driggs should be happy to see you, if you are serious.

You will hear alot about going turbo.

Won't have money for turbo. Well, not unless things happen to go perfectly for me. If I could make 170 or so HP I can hang with the GST's around here. There's one red Talon, he's a joke. Worst driver ever. An Auto NT Eclipse outran him (see War Stories). Being all motor would be cool, and would be a better platform to learn on I think.

I'm new here but I figured I'd share whats going on with my 95 gs nt seeing as how what ur about to do is similar. My 420a blew up 6 months ago so I decided to mill the head, get a full port and polish job done (intake runners and all)get an automatic throttle body put on, delete the power steering, clean the whole engine inside and out, I got an unorthodox lightened crank pulley, stage 1 clutch with an 8lbs fidanza flywheel, CIA and a muffler. Now the guy doing the engine work for me says I can get up to 200whp. We'll see how it realy turns out in a week. I have a dyno day on the 11th so I'll let u know how that turns out. that way you can kinda sorta gauge where urs will be. I also wana ask the experts on here what hp they think I could make with that work

There is no difference between a TB off an automatic car compared to one off a standard transmission 2GNT.

I hardly doubt you'll put down 200whp with no tuning. These cars are hard to put down high numbers N/A unfortunately. Requires a lot of work and after all that work, you probably wont even break into the lower 15s.

Don't give up, either of you, and expect somewhere between 130-150 at the wheels with those builds. Search this forum on "all motor" and spend a few minutes reading. Turbo is actually cheaper than all motor.

There were once four of us on this forum serious about going all motor. One has sold his car, the other two haven't been een much lately, and I have yet totrack out/dyno my car, but, right now, 160whp is the record, and that took a lot of mods to achieve.

Don't give up.

EDIT:
Stock 2G GST ET is 14.9sec @ ~91mph. If you can hit that, regardless of power output, you're as fast as a stock GST.

EDIT2:
Just heard that one of Todd's buddies in RI ran a 14.9 all motor this weekend. Word.

I'm not getting serious, just want a nice dependable 2GNT. My car has alot of character (cruel humor, more or less). I like the look of the car, and 130 at the wheels sure beats 130 at the crank.

I'd still like to do something like that myself, but I'm getting tired. I'll get her to the dyno and see what Daisy puts down before the end of the year. I'm just losing interest in the whole drag racing thing.

(I've set my sights on another form of racing...)
