I picked one up recently and have been test driving it. It has a nice compact display with 63 background color and brightness variations. The trip computer info is a cool feature. For now I just place mine below the headunit. I may move it later.
The manufacturer is located just about a 1/4 mile from me. Since I know you're going to ask... I got mine for $158 total and no shipping as they allowed for local pickups.
I actually bought it from an ebay guy out of state so I didn't have to pay tax either.

These are really slick. The Scangauge2 was just released this month with much better packaging and features.

The new one is especially useful to California people who need to pass the fuel & map monitors portion of the OBD2 smog check. It will even read and erase CEL's once the condition has been repaired.

I've been shopping around for a datalogger and I might just go ahead and pick up this one!

It doesn't actually log data yet. It's just a realtime display. To log you would need the USB interface and a software program on a laptop. They haven't released this, but when they do it will probably cost a few more bux.

Generic (obd-2.com) OBD2 cable + freeware logging program is about $70-150.
Scangauge2 + USB interface will probably be around $200-250.

I'm currently looking for one,but, I can wait a couple more months. Put me down for one.

The interface is a unit with memory and processing power itself. It has a cable that plugs into the unused connector on the ScanGaugeII and another that plugs into a USB port on a computer. They don't have to both be plugged in at the same time.

The interface will use SD Cards for data storage. You can plug it into the ScanGauge for logging and for other upload/download tasks. It can be removed from the vehicle and taken to a computer for data transfers.

The ScanGaugeII has all the hardware needed for the interface, but will need an upgrade of its program to use it. The Upgrade is free when you purchase the interface.

Price has not been finalized yet. It is expected to be under $100. This will also include the software for a windows based computer.

The plan is to introduce the interface in late August.

So far I'm really liking this unit. Right now I'm driving around monitoring my Water Temperature (new FMIC on the car), Intake Air Temperature (higher readings than I expected), Instantaneous Fuel Economy, and Distance To Empty. In Trip Mode the unit will record the max coolant temperature, RPM, speed etc.
