#12085, "How much HP gain will an overbored throttlebody produce?"
Have some extra cash and am trying to determine how to spend it wisely for some horsepower gain. I already have the mod's below, I'm planning on buying an AFX UDP, and replacing the Weapon-R intake with an Injen CAI. Will the $300 overbored throttlebody make that much of a difference?

I wouldn't pay $300 for an overbored throttle body. I would wait until I found a used one or could send my in and get it bored. I don't know exactly how many horses you get out of overboreing your throttle body, but you do get a nice little increase in throttle response. I noticed more of a difference when I replaced my stock pulley with an underdrive pulley then when I put on a 55mm throttle body. Energy Suspension motor mount inserts are also a good cheap mod; around $20.00 (plus shipping) from Summit Racing.

Yeap...unless you are pushing so much air through your engine that the throttle body becomes a significant restriction, you will not see a real power gain. You will definitely feel the difference in throttle response, though. I would buy a spare from another 2GNT'er or junkyard and get that ported for $100 or so.

just a note to ask? If you plan on turboing your car don't waste your money and another intake cai or not. The turbo system doesn't suppost the cai so it will be useless. It has it's own intake for the setup..

do the udp first, the t/b is noticable but i wouldnt spend 300 on it. i just had mine done. i 2nd day shipped mine to them and it took about 2 weeks. if you have that time then it is worth 100.
