#120333, "tps questions"

ok i pluged into my cars computer the other day to find some intersting output of my TPS. at idle it reads 12% open and at WOT it reads 74.7% open. i took off the sensor to find that with the 5 volts ref signal being sent i have .223 volts in a rest position then i slowly with a screw driver i turned the 2 tabs to its WOT and i got 4.8 volts. all of these numbers are perfect. so i thought i had a high resistance problem with the brown/red wire going back to the pcm. a voltage drop test showed no loss in power. so tonight i took off the throttle body and what i am finding is that with the tps hooked up i have .568 volts at idle and 3.74 at WOT. playing with the TPS i noticed they gave this thing too much travel and its resting positiong is off with the bolt holes about 3/4 a hole off.

has anyone else noticed this or is there a reflash for the pcm to recal it to take a 3.74 as wot instead of the 4.8 it should have.

Yes. it's normal. The ECU expects ~3.8v at WOT and something under 1v at closed throttle.

The issue isn't so much that the TPS is wrong, but that most dataloggers and most ODB2 equipment aren't calibrated for all makes and models sensor expectations.
