it lessens the amount of effort needed to run your accsesorys.. ie heat, alternator etc

using less of the engines power to run these gives back to the engine so u get back used up HP.

I love dino and 2gnt. ####ers (my word) bliz stole it but i let him borrow it

And the underdrive pulley is also lighter than the stock pulley so it is easier to spin as compared to the stock pulley.

it's all physics... the stock pulley is pretty heavy compared to the underdrive pulleys (af/x or unorthodox). These lighter pulleys make it easier for the engine to get them going. It's based on moment of inertia and circular accelleration. But since it has to use less power to get the pulley going, the power is passed along to the wheels which will then make you go faster.

it's like when you twirl an umbrella... the smaller lighter ones are easier to twirl.

AF/F Manufacturing makes a good one, and it is inexpensive comparatively. You can get it from http://www.howellautomotive.com for 160.00 (+ S/H) or if we still get a discount from http://www.ptuning.com then it is around 150.00 (+ S/H).

under most circumstances the belts that come with the afx should do just fine.. just make sure they are on nice and tight to avoid any chirping.. some have gone and gotten diff brand belts and if you do a search you should be able to find what the part numbers are.

The stock belts won't fit due to the size difference on the UD pulley. You have to use belts that are the same size as the ones that come with the pulley if you don't use those.
