I am in the process of totally re-doing my fuel system. Wal 255, Aeromotive inline, Aeromotive Reg, 3/8 braided line, 1/4 braided return line, and all Russell Fittings. I was looking at it all and notice that the Fuel Pump Assem has 1/4 id tubing coming out of it. Is everyone changing this out with 3/8's on the sending side? I haven't read anything about this and it seems to be this would be a bottle neck right at the tank. Thanks for any information!

Are you talking the metal line actually coming out of the top of the fuel pump cover that has like 6 nuts holding it to the fuel tank? If so, no. I don't know anybody who has switched that out. Fuel lines and stuff like that will really never need replacing to a larger size. They are already plenty big.
Also, why are you going to use 2 fuel pumps in your setup? Do you plan on using the stock injectors for 8-10 psi? Because that is the only reason I can see having 2 fuel pumps.

Oh ok, thanks for clearing that up.
When you look at the amount of fuel that is sprayed from fuel injectors, you realize that the fuel lines are plenty big already so there really isn't a need to change those over unless they are damaged somehow.

They're not hard to redo, if you use a sump-type pickup in the tank and a big inline pump.
The outlet on the walbro is 1/4". If you want bigger, get a bigger pump, too.

There is some restriction from the feed line but most of it comes from the stock filter. I would imagine that most people who upgrade the feed line do so for either:
1. 300+whp horsepower setups 2. Very high pressure setups 3. Easier to add inline hi-flow filter 5. Less splices and connections 6. It looks cool
Usually when I see people upgrading the return line its because it helps to achieve a lower static fuel pressure at the regulator. I personally am about to upgrade my entire fuel line system for a majority of these reasons.
I have seen someone on here upgrade the fuel pump assembly outlet piping too. I believe they used 3/8" tubing and had it braized in place of the stock piping. It obviously will be somewhat of a bottleneck but 10 feet of tubing would be a greater restriction along the entire run of fuel line. I'd leave the pump assembly alone until you see that it actually causing any issues with your flow (which I doubt it would).

Running higher pressure will result in lower Flow rates with any size line. If you want to increase the flow rate of a line, you would run a lower fuel pressure and the outcome would be a higher Flow.
I run 3/8 lines but i have a different setup compared to many. Considering the bottle neck you speek of is only 3 inches long and matched to the fuel pump outlet, i dont see it as that big of a worry.
