I decided to keep mine in when I went turbo because I still need to drive the thing long distances in the summer. Rolled down windows just doesn't cut it for me. Try driving 12 hours to the DSM shootout with no AC...no thanks lol.

Its a preference really and I know plenty on here have yanked theirs out. It does free up some considerable weight and less load on the engine of course.

Mine is gone as well. Thinking about possibly eliminating P/S this year too.

Yea I know you cant notice P/S unless your turning sharp or going slow but I do all my driving locally though, not really a daily driver on the highway anymore since every time I go on the highway something gets fucked up, llike last year when I hit a truck tire that flew off in front of me emoji

I was fixing an exhaust leak at my downpipe and the a/c compressor got in the way so I just took it off, along with the lines, bracket, condensor and accumulator. I'm from Las Vegas and I never had a/c when I was growing up so why do I need it now.

P/S: The belt is 40 inches for a 97 GS.

I'll bet you'll find more that took it off than left it on (for those who rebuilt). No AC and no PS here.

For some reason I had a really sweet mental image of parts of your widebody just flying off. I hate road debris.

I took out my A/C and P/S. I also live in the south, where it's hot. I enjoy rolling with the windows down, and I try to avoid driving in the rain.

No A/C isn't a big deal. If you're feeling brave you can loose the P/S.

If you remove the P/S, you need to remove the pump, which will make it much easier to turn, since you don't have to force that fluid around.

If you want to be happy, sit down for a minute and think if the benefits will out weight the discomfort.

My Talon also hasn't been my daily driver for the last couple months.

I dumped the AC also but kept the PS for autocross. I have the best kind of AC 275-AC 2 windows down 75 MPH.

If and when I drag race it I just remove the PS belt. I am really not worried about 10 pounds that give me a much better feel of the steering during autocross.

I've wondered this, is the defrost affected at all when the A/C is removed? I am contemplating taking my A/C and PS out because I don't think my A/C works anyways and don't feel like figuring out why.

Defrost works fine for me.

Alright, that's all I needed to know. I don't live in Texas anymore so I can bear not having A/C lol (Dino, I don't know how you do it). That humidity was killing me if I didn't have the A/C pumping.

I couldn't retain AC on my 2.4L without spending more money than I wanted to for a compressor and time for fabrication on top of that. I have power windows, I can roll them down. The faster I go, the cooler I am (temperature wise, anyway).

On a NA car? I want AC. Its comfortable.

I live in the south, and I don't have the belts on either ac or ps. I ran into some problems with the defrost at Myrtle Beach though. I just went out and bought some anti fog stuff from Rainex. Works great!
